Sound Strom works as a personal sonic interaction tool. It offers a positive distraction from a stressful life, as well as an intuitive and playful way to engage oneself with sound and music. There is no instruction or rules of interacting with the main body, hence it cost minimum efforts while outputting comforting and relaxing sound, derived both from nature and manmade objects. Meanwhile, setting free users’ hands and encouraging them to explore their own way to interact makes it a personal experience. Sensors will detect the strength, speed, and trajectory of hands when they touch or sweep around the Sound Strom. Different sound and musical elements among certain Hertz would thereby mix and play. The sound will change based on real-time data from these sensors and create responsive interaction.

Sound Strom challenges the boundary of traditional musical instruments with innovative electronics and human-centered-design. It could be a disruptive game changer and redefine what people listen to and how they “listen”.
