Start with a blank piece of paper, that to build a structure from a 2-dimensional sketch into a 3-dimensional object. This design shows a result of the designer’s journey of form-finding. Its folded surface recorded the designer’s thinking and learning process. Fascinated by origami art, the designer was interested in reforming new shapes from geometric vectors by folding and cutting one flat piece of sheet material. By creating different structure from folded surfaces, and experimenting with different materials including paper, polyester, and wood, the designer attempted to find a way to create a folded structure (a chair) that is stable and strong enough to carry one human body weight.
